GOD REVEALED

How does the created understand the Creator? God is a spirit and totally beyond us to understand. People simply don't relate real well to that which we can't see. We need something which we can relate to.

Most can understand that God must be big and certainly powerful, BUT what is He like? It's one thing to be told God loves you BUT what does that love look like and how does it relate to me?

God has seen to it that we have information about Him. The Bible is God's written record. God has seen to it that we are are informed about Him. It's interesting that in the Old Testament that God chose to be know by the name YHWH or as it has been translated in our english versions LORD (all capital letters) The depth of its meaning is, "the Self Existent One who reveals Himself". From the book of Genesis right on up until the life and person of the Lord Jesus Christ we can learn from the Scriptures that this is what God had been doing.

When Jesus came into the world God was doing something absolutely profound. He was giving humanity a personal, visual expression of His heart. he was making Himself known to His creation is a way that they could understand. He chose to personally take on the form of the created, to come as a person, to live as we live and do for us what we could never do for ourselves.

Jn.1:18 - No one has ever seen God; the only Son, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known.

Jn.1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Jn.1:14 - And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Lk.6:45 - The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

NOTE: What is in the heart is seen when expressed in words. What is in God's heart has been made clearly known to us through the Lord Jesus Christ.

Heb.1:1,2 - Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.

Jn.12:45 - And whosoever sees me sees Him who sent Me.

Jn.14:8,9 - Philip said to Him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us." 9 Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know Me Philip? Whoever has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Sow us the Father'?
